Warrengate Nursing Home

Warrengate provides residential care and nursing to 37 people aged 65 and over, with capacity for up to 40 residents, many living with dementia. The home had established strong infection prevention and control measures, including appointing infection control champions among staff and arranging external expertise to improve staff knowledge and skills across the provider's four services. An isolation zone was prepared for any residents who tested positive for Covid-19, with plans to expand it if needed. Individual risk assessments were conducted for staff at increased risk, and during periods of high infection rates in the area, the provider offered accommodation near the service so staff could avoid using public transport.
