About Trelowen Manor

Trelowen Manor is a residential care home in Cornwall, providing personal care for older adults. Details of the most recent CQC assessment are set out below.

Trelowen Manor is a care home providing personal care for up to 16 people, with 13 people living there at the time of the assessment. The CQC rated the service inadequate overall, down from good, and found breaches across seven regulations including safe care, safeguarding, staffing and governance. The home has been placed into special measures.

Inspectors found risks around skincare, choking, falls and medicines were poorly managed, with unsafe staffing levels and staff lacking key skills. People's mental capacity rights were not properly protected, and safeguarding concerns had not always been reported. Some residents said they felt safe and well cared for, but many described incidents where support fell short.
