Could the NHS fund Thorndene's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
Thorndene provides residential care and accommodation for up to 17 people with learning disabilities and autism, with 15 residents at the time of inspection. The service also supports five people through a separate supported living arrangement. A COVID-19 champion at the home ensured staff, residents, and relatives had access to testing, personal protective equipment, and information about staying safe. The champion monitored key areas including staff training and testing protocols. Accessible information was available for people who needed support understanding COVID-19, and residents were encouraged to use PPE if they wished. The home maintained sufficient supplies of appropriate protective equipment, and staff wore PPE as required.
