Tanglewood

Tanglewood is a small residential service providing accommodation and personal care for up to four people with learning disabilities and complex health care needs. At inspection, three people were living there, all registered blind. The service encourages residents to participate actively in their local community, with people attending clubs, sporting events, visiting local shops and pubs. There are no signs outside identifying it as a care home, supporting integration into the neighbourhood.

Residents and their relatives reported feeling safe at the service. Staff understood their safeguarding responsibilities and supported people around risks, including encouraging positive risk-taking. During the inspection, inspectors found that while accidents and incidents were documented, there was no formal recording process reviewed by the registered manager. Following discussion with inspectors, the registered manager implemented improvements to quality checks and incident documentation.
