The Whitebeach

The Whitebeach is a residential care home for up to 39 older people with various health needs including dementia, mobility support requirements, diabetes and mental health issues. The three-storey building offers large communal areas for residents to use. During inspection, 33 people were living at the service.

People lived safely and were protected from harm through comprehensive risk assessments. Staff knew residents well and could identify changes in their care needs promptly. Trained staff administered medicines safely with secure recording and storage procedures in place. The home maintained high standards of cleanliness and infection control, with staff using personal protective equipment appropriately.

The service conducted thorough pre-assessments before admitting new residents to ensure staff could meet their needs. Management supported residents and families with health and social care appointments and coordinated with other professionals when required. The building had been adapted to support people living with dementia and those requiring mobility assistance.
