The Moreton Centre

The Moreton Centre provides nursing and personal care for up to 64 people living with dementia or a mental health diagnosis, across four units in a purpose-built home. Following a responsive assessment prompted by specific concerns, the CQC found that safety systems were not always followed, the environment and equipment were not well maintained, and governance and culture between staff and management needed improvement. The rating has moved from Good to Requires Improvement.

Inspectors also found positive aspects: staff were kind and respectful, knew people well, and worked well with external health professionals. Relatives described staff as caring and communicative. However, some staff and relatives felt concerns raised were not always acted upon, and the provider has since begun implementing improvements with an action plan.
