The Rubens

The home accommodates 26 people, some living with dementia, across two floors in a single building. Ground floor facilities include two lounges, a large dining room, and a smaller dining area, with bedrooms on both levels and a lift providing access to the first floor. An enclosed garden with seating areas is available for residents and relatives.

However, people were not consistently supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives. Staff did not always support residents in the least restrictive way possible or in their best interests, and the home's policies and systems did not adequately support this practice. Some residents had not received appropriate Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards applications.
