Gingercroft Residential Home

Gingercroft Residential Home provides personal care to up to 21 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 18 people were using the service. While residents reported feeling safe, the home faced several concerns. People were not always protected from abuse risks, and incidents were not consistently identified and reported appropriately. Recruitment processes lacked proper safety checks, and staffing levels were inconsistent with unclear deployment of staff. Medicines management required improvement, and risk assessments did not always have corresponding care plans or evidence of learning from incidents.

The home's infection control practices needed strengthening, and quality assurance systems were ineffective at monitoring care quality and safety. Regulatory notifications were not always submitted as required by the Care Quality Commission.
