The Regard Partnership Limited - Restormel Terrace

Douglas House provides accommodation and support for up to four people with learning disabilities and/or autism. At inspection, all four supported residents were living at the service. Staff demonstrated strong infection control practices, having received appropriate training and correctly using PPE while confidently explaining their procedures. Residents were supported to understand handwashing importance and some chose to wear face coverings in communal areas and the community. Cleaning routines had been enhanced to include high-touch surfaces like door handles and light switches, with residents involved in cleaning their personal spaces and the house.

The service maintained visiting arrangements that allowed residents to stay connected with loved ones while managing social distancing through staggered visits. Residents received support to occupy their time meaningfully during periods when they couldn't go outside. The home demonstrated an enthusiastic approach to testing and vaccination, with the vaccine rolled out to both residents and staff. Residents were actively involved in understanding COVID-19 risks and participated in maintaining their living environment.
