The Poplars

The Poplars provides personal care to 27 residents aged 65 and over in an adapted building that can accommodate up to 33 people. The service supports individuals living with dementia and physical impairments. However, the physical environment was not always suited to meet residents' needs, affecting their safety.

While the provider had assessed risks associated with care and support, and staff were knowledgeable about these risks, some staff practice did not align with safe care procedures. Although staffing levels were adequate to meet residents' needs, people experienced interactions that felt task-driven rather than person-centred.
