The Lodge

This residential care home provides personal care to up to 38 people in one adapted building with private garden access. At inspection, 33 people were using the service.

Inspectors found that risks to people were not always assessed and their safety was not consistently monitored. The proper and safe use of medicines was not established, and medicines audits had failed to identify concerns that inspectors discovered. The governance framework similarly had not identified the safety issues found during inspection.

However, systems and processes did safeguard people from abuse, and sufficient numbers of suitable staff were employed. People were protected through infection prevention and control measures, and accidents and incidents were appropriately managed.
