Normanby House

Normandy House provides residential care for up to 25 older people and younger adults living with dementia, physical disability or sensory impairment. At inspection, 22 people were using the service. The home had strong infection control systems in place, with staff completing comprehensive cleaning schedules and ensuring adequate supplies of PPE including aprons, gloves and masks. Additional screening checks were implemented to minimise COVID-19 risks while enabling relatives to visit.

The home supported people and relatives to stay in contact using various technologies, and staff and residents were tested regularly for COVID-19 with vaccination evidence maintained for staff. Staff worked well as a team to promote people's wellbeing, with individual risk assessments in place to keep people safe when accessing activities outside the home, including shopping and use of the minibus service.
