About The Lodge

The Lodge is a nursing home in Derbyshire, providing personal and nursing care to adults, including people living with dementia. The findings below set out what the Care Quality Commission observed during its most recent inspection.

The Lodge provides personal and nursing care to up to 36 people, including adults and those living with dementia. At inspection, 27 people were using the service, accommodated across three floors of an adapted building with communal living areas, bathrooms, dining space, and a garden with seating areas. Risk assessments were in place to ensure safe care delivery, and staffing levels had been increased following the previous inspection to meet people's needs.

Medicines were safely managed by trained nurses and senior care staff, who received regular observations of their practice. Staff were recruited safely and understood how to support people in line with their preferences and wishes, demonstrating a positive, person-centred approach to care planning and delivery.
