The Laurels Care Centre

The Laurels Care Centre is a care home providing personal care and support to older people. Following an assessment prompted by concerns about safe care, the CQC rated the service Requires Improvement, down from Good. Inspectors found staff were kind and caring, but staffing levels and deployment were not always adequate, and systems for learning from incidents and accidents were not consistently effective.

Governance and management shortfalls were also identified, with the registered manager resigning during the assessment. Feedback from relatives and health professionals was mixed, with some concerns not fully acted on. The provider has been told it must make improvements.
