The Hamiltons Care Home

The Hamiltons Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 18 older people, some living with dementia, across two floors. The CQC rated the service Good overall. Inspectors found people felt safe, medicines were managed well, and staff were kind, with residents and relatives praising the quality of care and involvement in decisions.

The visit followed fire safety concerns, and while an enforcement notice had been served over loft compartmentation, the provider had begun addressing this. Inspectors also found gaps in staff supervisions and appraisals, and some Mental Capacity Act assessments were missing for restrictions such as sensor mats. Overall, the home was described as well-led, with an approachable manager and good governance.
