About Hourigan House Residential Care Home

Hourigan House is a residential care home in Wigan. Details of the Care Quality Commission's most recent findings on the home are set out below.

Hourigan House provides residential care for 37 people, with capacity for up to 40. The home implemented several measures to protect residents during the pandemic. All visitors had their temperatures checked as a screening tool, and the home participated in regular COVID testing.

A specially constructed pod with a Perspex screen and separate entrance allowed visits without exposing residents to the wider facility. Staff supported people to maintain contact with loved ones through video calls, telephone calls, and window visits when in-person visits were restricted.
