The Goldbridge

The Goldbridge is a 64-bed residential service providing accommodation and nursing or personal care to older people, including those with dementia, frailty, and sensory impairment. The service offers long-term, short-term, and respite care, with 59 residents at the time of inspection. The provider demonstrated flexibility in meeting individual needs, allowing residents to choose between receiving family visits at the home or visiting relatives during the Christmas period. Staff received transparent visors to support residents who found standard face masks distressing during communication. The building's design, featuring en-suite rooms, two corridors per floor, and wide corridors, enabled effective social distancing. Management kept families regularly updated about visiting arrangements and other changes. The service had installed a pod to facilitate remote video visits when preferred, and ensured essential caregivers and relatives of residents receiving end-of-life care had unrestricted access to their loved ones.
