The Firs Care Home

The Firs Care Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 32 older people, with 25 people living there at the time of the CQC's assessment. This follow-up assessment checked progress against a Warning Notice issued after a previous inspection found propped-open fire doors and unsafe windows. Inspectors found both issues had been fixed, with door guards and window restrictors now in place.

However, the safe key question remains rated requires improvement overall, as earlier concerns about safeguarding and staffing were not reassessed this time. Other areas, including caring and effective care, were rated good, though well-led remains requires improvement.
