The Ferns Care Home

The Ferns Care Home provides accommodation and personal care to older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 27 people were living at the facility, which has capacity for 47 residents.

Safeguarding practices required improvement. Lessons had not always been learned from previous safeguarding incidents, and delays in reporting concerns had put people at higher risk. The registered manager and regional manager had implemented some positive changes, though further work remained necessary. Auditing and governance systems had not consistently identified key areas needing improvement, and incident audits were basic and ineffective at identifying trends.
