The Old Vicarage Care Home

The Old Vicarage Care Home provides accommodation, personal and nursing care for up to 36 older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC found improvements were needed across staffing levels, staff training, care records, infection control, medicines management and governance to ensure people received safe, effective and person-centred care. Activities were limited and people were not always meaningfully occupied.

Inspectors found staff were kind and attentive, and people spoke positively about their care and the recently departed manager's improvements. However, staffing shortfalls meant care was sometimes rushed, and recruitment checks and quality audits were not robust enough to ensure consistent safety and oversight.
