St Thomas Complex

The service provides accommodation and personal care to up to 52 people, with a focus on supporting older people including those living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 29 people were using the service with sufficient staff to support them safely. Staff had received safeguarding training and knew how to raise concerns appropriately, taking action to keep people safe when needed. Staff contacted health professionals when people's health needs changed and followed effective processes to ensure medicines were managed safely.

People and their relatives were very complimentary about the care provided, expressing trust in the staff who supported them. The inspection identified a recommendation about ensuring staffing levels and deployment on the lower ground floor are kept under review to maintain engagement and stimulation for residents. A further recommendation was made regarding protocols for 'when required' medicines.
