The Chase

The Chase is a residential care home registered to support up to 31 older adults, with 19 people living there at the time of the assessment. The CQC found the service remained Inadequate and in special measures, following a repeat inspection after earlier breaches. Inspectors found an unsafe, unclean environment, unsafe medication management, and poorly managed risks to people's safety.

Staff were often kind, but the overall culture did not protect people's dignity, and care was task based rather than personalised. Leaders lacked oversight and there was no strong safeguarding culture. Some clinical care and record-keeping had improved, but this had not been sustained across the service.
