About Roper House

Roper House is a residential care home in Kent, providing support for people who are deaf and/or blind, some of whom also have learning disabilities. Details from the most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

Roper House provides residential care for up to 27 people who are deaf and/or blind, some with learning disabilities. At inspection, 22 people were using the service. The home has communal areas, a large garden, and two self-contained flats for those living more independently.

Staff supported residents to pursue their interests, with one person receiving support for painting. Residents could personalise their rooms and had chosen colours for communal hallways. The service facilitated access to specialist support including occupational therapy and speech and language therapy.

Staff enabled people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, supporting them in the least restrictive way possible and in line with their best interests.
