About Sutherlands Nursing Home

Sutherlands Nursing Home, in Norfolk, provides nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia and people with a learning disability. Details of the most recent CQC assessment are set out below.

Sutherlands Nursing Home provides nursing care to older people, including those living with dementia and people with a learning disability. Following concerns raised about the service, the CQC carried out an assessment and rated it Requires Improvement overall.

Inspectors found risks were not always well managed, staff training and inductions were not always robust, and mental capacity assessments lacked detail. People were not always treated with kindness and dignity, and had limited choice, control or access to community activities. However, the environment was clean, safeguarding was understood, and people, staff and relatives spoke positively about the new manager, feeling safe and comfortable raising concerns.

The provider has been asked for an action plan.
