Ivy Court

Ivy Court provides personal and nursing care to 44 older people, including those living with dementia, with capacity for up to 71 residents. Inspectors identified significant concerns with care planning. Six care plans reviewed contained outdated or conflicting information, making it unclear what care people needed to remain safe. This posed particular risks given the service's reliance on agency staff who depend on accurate care plans to provide appropriate support. Care plans lacked robust guidance on supporting people with distressed behaviours, with three residents having insufficient information about how to positively de-escalate situations. Some people with complex mental health conditions had no care plans addressing these needs.

The service failed to demonstrate openness and transparency. Inspectors found that a document had been edited before submission to include information that was not originally present, and complaints made by one family member were neither recorded in the complaints file nor acknowledged when inspectors enquired about them.
