Sunrise Nursing Home

Sunrise Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care for 27 older people in an adapted three-storey building with capacity for up to 30 residents. The home has governance systems in place, though these were not always effective in identifying and addressing shortfalls in service delivery.

Inspectors identified several areas of concern. Environmental risks, including those from hot water, had not all been properly identified. Not all areas of the home and furnishings were well maintained, which affected infection control procedures. There were gaps and inaccuracies in records of care delivery, and staffing levels at lunchtime were insufficient to ensure people received appropriate support. The manager and provider took immediate action in response to some of the identified issues.
