Sunningdale Nursing Home

Sunningdale Nursing Home provides nursing care for up to 35 older people in Rawdon, North-West of Leeds. The adapted building is spread over two floors and was clean and suitable for its intended purpose. At inspection, 28 people were residing at the home.

Staff had the right skills and knowledge to care for people and received a range of training. The service worked effectively with health professionals, and people received a varied and appropriate diet. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives, with staff supporting them in the least restrictive way possible. Whilst most medicines were managed safely, some improvements were needed in documenting topical medicines and regularly assessing staff competency in medicine administration. People were protected from abuse and avoidable harm, with risks to health and safety assessed. The provider addressed staffing deployment concerns identified during the inspection.
