Sun Court Nursing Home

Sun Court Nursing Home provides nursing care for up to 29 people, including older and younger adults living with dementia, physical needs, or sensory impairment. The service operates across three floors with communal areas on the ground floor. At inspection, 22 people were using the service.

Inspectors found that people were not always supported to make choices or live independently in person-centred ways. Most residents remained in their rooms with limited interaction beyond care tasks, and activities and stimulation were restricted. Care records contained contradictory and inaccurate information, with some assessments missing, particularly regarding support for people experiencing distress or agitation. Governance systems were ineffective at identifying problems or ensuring actions were completed, and there was insufficient oversight of the service and support for the registered manager. These gaps put people at risk of unsafe or inappropriate care.
