Lakeshore Nursing Home

St David's is a care home providing personal and nursing care for up to 35 people aged 65 and over. At inspection, 33 people were living in the home. Individual COVID-19 risk assessments were in place with clear plans for staff precautions to minimise infection risk. Staff health and wellbeing were also assessed to ensure their safety at work. The home supported visitors through creative solutions, including a large marquee adjoining the activity lounge with glass doors and a PA system allowing families to communicate. The marquee was made welcoming with fairy lights and flower arrangements made by residents. Entertainers such as musicians and opera singers performed there for people. Residents were additionally supported to maintain contact with relatives and friends through telephone and video calls, while those in ground floor rooms with large windows could receive visits at their windows.
