About Stour Road Care Home

This residential care home supports up to 20 people across three floors, including those living with dementia. The home features communal areas, a conservatory with level access to a secure garden, and is accessible by stairs or lift. Staff demonstrated good knowledge of residents and encouraged them to live fulfilling lives.

Care plans were detailed and person-centred, though some health condition information needed to be more individualised, which the manager addressed immediately upon feedback.

Risk assessments were comprehensive and particularly thorough for people experiencing emotional distress, with staff confident in their ability to identify and report safeguarding concerns both internally and to external agencies. Staff were encouraged to raise worries about resident safety, and improvements had been made to personalised care provision. However, the home was recommended to strengthen activities and social engagement, as these improvements had not yet been consistently embedded across all areas of practice.
