Stewton House Nursing Home

Stewton House Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care to up to 48 older people, some living with physical disabilities or requiring end of life care. At inspection, 41 people were using the service.

However, inspectors found significant safety concerns. The home had not informed the local authority safeguarding team about safeguarding concerns. People were at risk of entrapment from bed rails, and environmental safety measures such as window restrictors were not consistently in place or properly assessed. Medicines were not always administered safely, and both relatives and staff reported insufficient staffing levels on duty. The service did not always learn from incidents to prevent recurrence.
