St Vincent House - Gosport

St Vincent House provides personal care for up to 34 older people and those living with dementia in one adapted building. At inspection, 24 people were using the service. Staff were recruited safely and staffing levels were sufficient to meet people's needs, though management reviewed where staff were positioned to better manage known risks. People received their medicines safely as prescribed, with proper arrangements for obtaining, recording and administering medication, though improvements were needed for the safe use of topical creams.

Risk assessments and care plans required strengthening, particularly regarding management of known health needs and fall prevention, though the provider took immediate action to address these issues. People told inspectors they felt safe and were supported by kind, caring staff.
