St Mary's Continuing Care

St Mary's Continuing Care is a purpose-built home divided into four separate units, providing nursing and personal care for up to 63 people with acquired brain injury, early onset dementia, mental health support needs and older people living with dementia. At the time of inspection, the home was at full capacity.

People received high-quality, person-centred care with carefully monitored and assessed quality and safety standards. Medicine management procedures were safely in place, though some areas of practice did not fully comply with the provider's medication administration policy. Staff developed positive relationships with residents and drew on detailed care records that captured people's likes, dislikes, wishes and preferences to inform support. People's risks were assessed from the outset, with support measures put in place and regular reviews ensuring care remained relevant and up to date. Safeguarding procedures were established and staff understood when and how to raise concerns.
