Broadoak Manor Care Home

Broadoak Manor Care Home in St. Helens provides nursing and personal care for up to 120 people, including those living with dementia. The CQC rated the home Inadequate overall and placed it into special measures, following breaches of six legal regulations covering safeguarding, dignity, consent, safe care and governance.

Inspectors found people were not always protected from abuse or choking risks, medicines were poorly managed, and infection control and staff training fell short.

Care plans lacked person-centred detail and activities were limited. Governance systems failed to identify or address these problems, though families and residents spoke positively about kind, caring staff, and a new interim manager had begun making changes.
