St Katharine's House

St Katharines House provides personal and nursing care to up to 76 older people across three wings, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 61 people were using the service. Staff supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives and used the least restrictive approaches in their best interests. Staff demonstrated understanding of the Mental Capacity Act principles.

Inspectors noted that while policies and systems supported person-centred practice, recording of mental capacity assessments could be improved. A recommendation was made to strengthen documentation in line with Mental Capacity Act principles.
