St Joseph's Nursing Home

St Joseph's Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 41 people, including those with nursing needs, and was supporting 35 people at the time of assessment. The CQC found breaches relating to safe care and treatment and governance. Medicines management and infection control needed improvement, and audits had not always identified these issues, though concerns were addressed quickly.

Monitoring charts for repositioning and fluid intake were not consistently completed.

Despite this, people told inspectors they felt safe, and there were enough safely recruited staff. Care was found to be kind and compassionate, with staff knowing people well and involving them in reviewing their care. People and relatives described the service as friendly, welcoming and well led at ward level.
