St Josephs Nursing Home

St Joseph's is a nursing home accommodating up to 24 people across two floors, providing care and support for those with varied needs including Parkinson's disease, dementia, diabetes and frailty of age. The home is attached to a convent and residents have direct access to a shared chapel. At inspection, 22 people were using the service.

Care plans and risk management processes were current and provided sufficient guidance to ensure people's needs were met and risks mitigated. However, quality assurance processes had failed to identify fire safety concerns found during inspection. Record keeping of paper documents was disorganised and some health and safety check records were missing. Electronic care planning and risk management systems had recently been introduced and required time to become embedded in daily operations. Safe recruitment systems were in place, and the provider was developing a formal induction programme.
