St George's Residential Care Home

St George's Residential Care Home supports up to 41 older people, including those living with dementia, in an adapted building. At the time of inspection, 33 people were using the service. Staff provided person-centred care that met individual needs, with sufficient staffing levels ensuring people received the support required. Medicines were administered safely according to prescriptions, and infection prevention procedures were consistently followed.

The home had systems in place to identify and manage risks to people's safety, protecting them from abuse. Management demonstrated understanding of Mental Capacity Act responsibilities and ensured people had maximum choice and control over their lives, supported in the least restrictive way possible. The registered manager had processes to learn from incidents and share lessons to maintain safety across the service.
