St Aubyns Nursing Home

St Aubyn's Nursing Home accommodates up to 39 older people and provides nursing care. At inspection, 28 people were using the service. The home had implemented comprehensive COVID-19 safety measures, including visitor screening for symptoms and requirements to follow guidance on hand washing, sanitising and PPE use. Prominent signage throughout the home reminded staff and visitors about PPE and social distancing, which inspectors observed being followed consistently.

The registered manager confirmed sufficient staffing levels had been maintained throughout the pandemic, with block-booked agency staff who worked exclusively at the home. All staff, including agency workers, had received training on COVID-19, infection control and PPE use. The provider verified that agency staff were fully vaccinated before permitting them to work at the home. A testing programme was in place for both people using the service and staff, with self-isolation required when symptoms were identified.
