Spencer House Care Home

Spencer House provides personal and nursing care for up to 65 younger and older people, including those living with dementia, mental health and physical disabilities. At the time of inspection, 52 people were receiving care from safely recruited staff who knew them well. People felt safe and described staff as "kind, polite, respectful and caring," with relatives expressing comfort with the care provided. Staff received appropriate training and understood safeguarding procedures, with effective systems in place to protect people from abuse.

Care plans detailed individual preferences, likes and dislikes, and how people wished to be communicated with. People and relatives were involved in planning their care. Risk assessments were completed with strategies implemented to mitigate identified risks. The environment was clean with infection prevention and control measures in place, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment and established cleaning schedules.
