Southwoods Nursing Home

Southwoods Nursing Home accommodates up to 38 people requiring nursing care in a single adapted building. At inspection, 28 people were using the service, including someone with a learning disability.

Inspectors identified safety concerns with medicines administration, finding that records were not always completed correctly. While the home had an organised governance framework in place that monitored all aspects of care and support, this system had not identified the medicines issues that inspectors discovered. The framework had been developed over the previous eight months under new management and was regularly reviewed.
