The following is CQC's published account of its assessment, published 8 September 2026. References to “we” mean CQC. It describes findings at that time.

Date of assessment: 12 August 2026 to 18 August 2026.The service is a care home providing personal and nursing care for up to 114 older people, including people living with dementia, physical health needs, and nursing needs. At the time of our assessment, 91 people were living at the service. The assessment was triggered due to an aged rating, last being inspected in 2020.The provider developed a positive learning culture and used audits, incident reviews, and governance systems to monitor the quality and safety of the service. Staff understood people's needs and risks and worked closely with healthcare professionals to support people's safety and wellbeing. People received their medicines safely, risks were identified and managed, and there were enough skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. Staff received regular training, supervision, and support to help them provide safe and effective care.Staff assessed and reviewed people's needs, and care was delivered in line with current guidance and professional recommendations. Staff worked with healthcare professionals and supported people to access health services when required. People were treated with kindness, dignity and respect, and staff understood their preferences, routines and what was important to them. People were supported to maintain interests, make choices about their lives and remain connected with those important to them. Improvements have been made since the last assessment. People were protected from avoidable harm and risks were managed effectively.The service was well-led. The provider maintained oversight through audits and quality assurance processes; however, these had not always identified or addressed issues in a timely manner. During the assessment, we identified some inconsistencies in care records, including aspects of end-of-life planning and Mental Capacity Act documentation, where information was not always recorded consistently. We also identified environmental issues requiring further action, including flooring repairs, and replacing shower equipment. The provider responded positively to feedback and demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement. The provider had already taken action, or developed plans, to address these areas.We found no evidence that these issues affected care received. Overall, people received safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led care from staff who were committed to achieving positive outcomes and supporting people to live meaningful lives.
