Kensington Care Home

Kensington care home provides residential accommodation and personal care to 17 older people, with capacity for up to 64 residents across three floors. Residents and their relatives expressed satisfaction with the care and support provided. The home aims to support people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff working in the least restrictive way possible. However, some care plans and records relating to best interest decisions did not adequately reflect this practice, and the home has been recommended to improve its recording and auditing of these decisions. Medicines were administered safely overall, though some medicine records required better completion. The home maintains robust infection prevention and control practices, including appropriate personal protective equipment for visitors, enhanced cleaning of all areas and frequent touch surfaces, and relevant staff training in hygiene and safety procedures.
