South Haven Lodge Care Home

South Haven Lodge Care Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 46 older people, some living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 30 people were living there in one adapted building with an enclosed garden. While staff supported people with medicines and completed records, medication records did not match the medicine stocks held in the home. Additionally, some people prescribed 'when needed' medicines for severe pain relief or anxiety did not have clear protocols in place. Care plans identified individual risks such as pressure area wounds, but there were inconsistencies in repositioning records and people were not consistently supported within the correct timeframes, putting their skin at risk of injury. The environment had improved since the last inspection, though some concerns were identified on the first day which the registered manager addressed promptly.
