St Annes Nursing Home

St Annes Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 58 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 30 people were residing at the home. Staff demonstrated good understanding of how to support people with dignity and respect, and people had appropriate access to healthcare services. People were supported to eat and drink well and to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff using the least restrictive approach possible.

However, ongoing improvements were needed in mandatory staff training updates and regular supervision. Care records were not always completed accurately, making it difficult to evidence that care was delivered as planned. People and relatives reported a positive atmosphere at the service, describing staff as caring and attentive. The clinical lead oversaw day-to-day operations and had worked to make improvements, demonstrating an open and transparent approach during the inspection.
