Abbey House Nursing Home

Abbey House Nursing Home is a nursing home providing care and support to older people and people with a physical disability. The CQC found the service was performing well overall, with person-centred risk assessments, a safe and clean environment, sufficient trained staff, and safe medicines management. People and relatives spoke positively about staff, describing patience, good communication and attentive care.

Inspectors did identify two breaches relating to safeguarding, as the registered manager had not always raised safeguarding alerts with the local authority or notified the CQC of allegations of abuse. The registered manager responded quickly, amending processes to address the issues, and an action plan was requested by the CQC.
