Silverways Nursing Home, in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, provides accommodation, personal and nursing care for up to 61 people. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, having been prompted to inspect by concerns about safety of care. Inspectors found two breaches of regulation: medicines were not always managed safely, care did not always match assessed needs, and the provider's checks and audits were not always effective, creating potential risk of avoidable harm.

Despite this, staff were found to be kind and knew people well, offering a good range of activities and timely referrals to health professionals. People and relatives spoke positively about staff and felt safe. The provider had begun making changes in response to the shortfalls identified.
