Homefield Grange

Homefield Grange provides personal and nursing care for up to 64 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 45 people were using the service.

Inspectors found that risks associated with malnutrition, dehydration and swallowing were not always managed safely. Medicines prescribed on an as-needed basis lacked proper protocols to ensure safe administration. Some equipment was in poor repair, compromising cleaning standards and infection prevention. The service had not always notified CQC of notifiable incidents as legally required. While governance systems were in place, they had not identified all areas requiring improvement.
