About Sheerwater House

Sheerwater House is a residential care home in Surrey, offering support to older people, including those living with dementia. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Sheerwater House is a care home without nursing for up to 20 older people, including those living with dementia, based in Sheerwater. The CQC found a service with a stable, consistent staff team and a warm, homely atmosphere, where people felt safe and well cared for. However, inspectors identified breaches relating to medicines management and governance: records were not always accurate, and quality monitoring systems failed to identify risks or drive improvement.

People and their families spoke positively about staff kindness, teamwork and involvement in care planning. Some areas of the building needed refurbishment and extra cleaning, and a wider range of activities was requested. The provider has been asked to submit an action plan addressing the concerns found.
