Sandholme Fold provides personal care for up to 44 people, including those living with dementia, and currently supports 38 residents. The CQC found the service requires improvement overall, with a breach of regulation relating to good governance. Oversight and quality assurance systems were not effective, and improvements were needed in managing risks, medicines and staffing levels.
Most people said they felt safe and described staff as kind and helpful. However, inspectors found that dignity was not always protected, care was not consistently person centred, and meaningful activities were lacking, with one relative reporting there were no longer any activities for residents to enjoy.
